\u201ePhotopainting Mosaic <\/strong>– jedes Bild ist eine Bildkomposition aus etwa 2000 einzelnen Bildern<\/strong><\/p>\n

Digitale abstrakte Bilder zu gestalten ist eine grosse Leidenschaft von mir. Farben und Formen immer wieder neu zu erleben, ist eine Wohltat f\u00fcr die Seele. Faszinierend f\u00fcr mich ist die Art, wie ein Computerbild entsteht, wie z. B. aus einer belanglosen Vorlage im n\u00e4chsten Moment sich etwas ganz Besonderes entwickelt. Die digitalen Mosaics entstehen aus einer Fotocollage und bestehen aus etwa 2\u2019000 einzelnen Bildern. Tausende kleine Fotos ergeben so wieder ein grosses Bild. Die Fotomontage-Technik besteht darin, aus winzigen eingescannten Details und verfremdend gepixelten Bildern, v\u00f6llig neue Eindr\u00fccke entstehen zu lassen. Ich experimentiere mit den verschiedensten Programmen und Techniken. Einerseits nehme ich dabei meine Originalbilder in Mischtechnik, digitalisiere diese und \u00fcberarbeite sie anschliessend im Computer \u2013 anderseits benutze ich Fotos, die ich in den Computer einlese und dann dort weiter bearbeite. Die Photopaintings sind eine Kombination aus Bildbearbeitung und Malerei. Durch digitale Manipulation oder Verfremdung sowie diverse Filterungsprozesse wird jedes Bild einzeln bearbeitet und \u00fcber viele Stufen hinweg in eine v\u00f6llig neue Form und zu einer ganz neuen Bildaussage transformiert. Jedes Digitalbild ist ein \u201eUNIKAT\u201c und wird in der vom Kunden gew\u00fcnschten Gr\u00f6sse hergestellt. Beim Druck handelt es sich um einen lichtbest\u00e4ndigen Farbpigment-Druck, der direkt auf die verschiedensten Materialien, wie Plexiglas, Aluminium, Kunststoff oder Metall aufgebracht wird. Die immer wieder sich \u00e4ndernden Lichtverh\u00e4ltnisse wie Tageslicht oder Kunstlicht geben den Bildern einen zus\u00e4tzlichen und einmaligen Effekt.<\/p>\n

Mediale Malerei \u2013 der digital Zeitgeist in Bildern <\/strong><\/p>\n

Die Gegens\u00e4tzlichkeiten bei den unterschiedlichen Arbeiten, –\u00a0 das sich in die Farbenwelt vertiefen und in der Computerwelt experimentieren k\u00f6nnen – , bringen sehr viel Herausforderung, Abwechslung und Spannung in mein k\u00fcnstlerisches Schaffen. Ob ich am Computer wirke, oder mich mit einem anderen Ausdrucksmittel besch\u00e4ftige, eines bleibt sich immer gleich: seelische, geistige und k\u00f6rperliche Dialoge mit dem jeweiligen Material offenbaren mir den Ursprung kreativer Sch\u00f6pfung. Gef\u00fchle, Erlebtes, Gelebtes, Verinnerlichtes, Visionen, Tr\u00e4ume, Gedankenspiele, Alltag, etc. spiegeln sich in den fertigen Werken.<\/p>\n

Medial painting \u2013 the digital spirit of the age in pictures<\/strong><\/p>\n

I use the computer as a painting tool and have developed different techniques. These \u201cPhoto-paintings\u201d form a sub-set of the digital works. They are a combination of traditional painting and the creation of the pictures in a computer program. I have developed two types: On one hand I digitalize my original art works in mixed media and then create a new work by manipulating the digital images in the computer. On the other hand I produce a \u201cPhoto-collage\u201d\u00a0 using digital photographs, scanned images and sketches. The pictures are worked on in the computer using different filtering and painting processes over many stages until the image is completely transformed. Whilst the new work is based on the original material, the imagination and ability of the artist are crucial in giving this completely new composition its revised statement and form. The digital Mosaics are a creation of about 2\u2019000 single pictures. The technical sophistication of printing allows me to realize the image conceived digitally in the computer on such specially selected materials as Plexiglas, Aluminium, or another metal. Each picture is unique and will be printed in the size required. Using non-traditional methods I evoke insights that one would scarcely associate with \u201cbrush on painting surface\u201d.<\/p>\n

I work with these untraditional methods in order to create totally new insights that would hardly be achievable using a combination of\u00a0 brush strokes on a surface.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The transparent, translucent and reflective materials I am using lend themselves to the creation of spectacular lighting effects, using both natural and electrical light sources. Changing the surface texture by abrasion or corrosion also adds further depth to these works.<\/p>\n

The story of the mutual influence of science and machine, of artists hand and blind fantasy repeats itself. * Already photography required decades, in order to be established as an independent art forms, likewise\u00a0 after a difficult beginning film and video have become established themselves as artistic activities since the middle of the 20th<\/sup> century – In none of these cases, the creative activity has been subjugated by the technology. On the contrary the creative arena is expanded immeasurably by each technological advance in technique. This is a natural progression due to the continual advancement of the natural sciences. Thus computer technology has emerged as the latest visual revolution to expand the means of artistic production at the beginning 21st<\/sup> century.<\/p>\n
